The work uses a palette of colours to create a contrast between the natural and urban environments. Malachite and Azurite with quartz tetrahedrite reinforce the colours of nature, while the mother-of-pearl shell reinforces the multicoloured and brilliant effect of the sun on the glass of the buildings. The juxtaposition between nature and urban development symbolises the coexistence or tension between the natural world and human expansion. The presence of the skyscraper with the squirrel refers to Miami culture, mixing tropical energy with modern life.
